¶ The arc, in one sentence
I get called in to build new things inside big companies — and I run the global teams that ship them, end-to-end.
§ I

About

B20+ years building and scaling global engineering teams at PayPal and Google. Known for launching greenfield products inside large companies and for people-first leadership that shields teams, builds trust, and ships measurable outcomes.

Most recently a Director of Engineering at PayPal, leading strategy and execution across Developer Experience, BillPay, and Global Custom Solutions — and the multi-year partner integrations with Apple, Microsoft, Google, Meta, and eBay.

Returning from an intentional sabbatical taken to be present for family and to deepen platform-engineering, AI, and leadership credentials. Looking for Director or VP of Engineering at a small-to-medium company where I can own technical direction end-to-end.

§ II

Career

Twenty-plus years across defense engineering, satellite software, enterprise identity, e-commerce at Google, and — for thirteen of them — payments at PayPal. The pattern: greenfield inside a giant.

Sr Engineering Manager, Strategic Partner Integrations
PayPal · Apple · Microsoft · Google · Meta · eBay

Led the multi-year PayPal-Apple integration into iTunes and the Apple Store.

Owned the integration team supporting PayPal's strategic partners — the companies not doing off-the-shelf integrations, but building new and innovative products that needed new features delivered: eBay, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Meta. The iTunes + Apple Store integration was credited with a ~10% PayPal stock move on the 2017 announcement. Across the portfolio we shipped tokenization, conversational commerce, intelligent-assistant payment flows, and third-party payment patterns.

Lead Partner Technology Manager, Google Express
Google · Mountain View

Led the PTM team supporting large-enterprise merchants integrating into the Google Shopping Express Mall for same-day delivery.

Owned technical consulting, merchant onboarding, and 24/7 support for enterprise retailers building same-day delivery into the Google Shopping Express Mall — supervised the Technical Account Managers and partnered cross-functionally with product, engineering, and sales to surface merchant pain points and drive platform enhancements. Recognized the role wasn’t the right long-term fit and corrected course back to PayPal — a decision I’d make again.

Customer-facing engineering at a startup, on top of a foundation in defense, satellites, and enterprise identity.

Radiant Logic (2007–10) — Systems Engineer at the enterprise-identity startup. Worked as an individual contributor on a small dynamic team focused on customer-facing aspects: proofs of concept, conference appearances, solution engineering, and integration engineering. That breadth — selling, scoping, and shipping with the customer in the room — is the same playbook I took into PayPal's SWAT team three years later. Prior foundation: Space Systems Loral (2006–07, Sr SW Engineer · satellites), Raytheon / Photon Research (2003–06), Cyber Defense Agency (2004–05), System Solutions Group (2002–04), Applied Research Associates (2002–03).
